Many, Visit the Sbow It appears that almost everyone in Shannon visited the Palmerston North show during its two day duration. Almost one hundred people travelled by train over tbe two days, while every bus which passed through the town collected its quota of passengers. Many private car owners also made the •trip. The bus which ran to the Levin races on Saturday was filled to capacity, with the result that the town was almost completely deserted on Saturday afternoon. Summer Sports Popular With ideal summer weather conditions prevailing over the weekend, all fields of summer sport were well patronised. Sunday saw an excellent gathering at the local bowling green and the tennis courts were filled throughout the afternoon. The marching girls were busy practising on the domain in readiness for the forthcoming competition at Feilding and the local cricketers, encouraged by their win against Paraparaumu on Saturday, were out in large numbers on the practice wicket on Sunday afternoon.
