WKLUXGTOX, Xov. 7. Inereases in the miuirnum wages tor workers are provided for in the Minimuni Wage Amendment Bill which was introduced and read a lirst time in the House of Representatives today. The Bill, which is to come into force on December 1, inereases the exislmg minimum rates by 10s a weelc, 2s a dav or 3d an hour. The new rates for males are therefore £5 15s a week and for females £3 15s a week. Tlie daily rate is increased to 24s for males and to 15s 4d for females and the hourly rate to 3s for males and Is lld for females.
