About 80 passengers wero slightly injured. Both engines and some coaehes wero derailed. The revised easualty figures in the other two aceidents are I'our killed and 88 injured at Motspui* Park and two killed and 20 injured at Ilerne Ilill. Men w:.'h speeial lorehes had 1o walk in front oi the anibulances going to the Motspur Park accident beeause the log* was oue oi the worst ever known in the di.striet. There were eerie seenes both at Motspur Park and Ilerne Ilill as rescuers worked ainong the wreckage with the aid oi searehlights and oil flares which only dimly penetrat ed the eurtain oi log. In the Ilerne Ilill accident two Southern Railway passenger trains collided and two coaehes wcnt over an embankment.
