SHOW AGAIN CREATES N.Z. RECORD

For the second year in succession the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association Show which opened in Palmerston North yesterday established a New Zealand record for hrst day takings. Last year with a total receipts of £937 11s 6d the show made New Zealand history for first day takings, hut this was easily eclipsed by the total gate receipts recorded yesterday. The amount was £1074, and created a new record. This figure represented a very large increase in the number of people who attended the show on the first night this year because the individual figures indicated that yesterday's day takings were down on those of last year. It was estimated that 10,000 people attended the show last night.
