INCREASED WAGES FOR DAIRY FARM WORKERS
WLLL1XGTON, Xov. tj. An order. increasing as from X'ovember 1, 194G, the rates of pay for agrieultural workers emploved on dairy farms, was gazetted today. The Minister of Laliour, Hon. A. AlcLagan, said the rates had been increased having regard to inereased prices re cently approved for dairy produce. Thc inereases had been agreed upon be tween representatives of the Xew Zealand Workers' L'nion and Federated Farmers. The eash weelily wages are as fol low: — Workers under 17 years -15s Gd. workers 17 to 1b years £2 17s Gd, workers 18 to 19 years £3 10s, workers 19 to 20 years £4 2s 6d, workers 20 to 21 years £1 14s 6d. workers 21 years and upwards £5 6s 6d. Any workers wlio have left their employment on dairy farms between Xovember 1, 1946, and the present date, sliould elaim on their previous emplovers for the inereased rates- which operate from Xovember 1, 1946.
