TERRORISTS FIRE ON POLICE

Received Tuesday, 10.5 a.m. JERUSALEM, Nov. 3. Terrorists fired upon and seriously wounded. two British policemen near Barelay's Bank in Tel Aviv. This is the first attack on Britons since Britain announced her intention of withdrawing from Palestine. The two policemen were shot when about to engage members of the Stern Gang pasting copies of their illegal newspaper on walls along Allenby Road. The shots came from a car hidden in the shadows. Another British constable was shot near Tel Aviv police station. The police in the station replied to 'the shooting and killed one of the Jewish attackers.
