BOWLING TOURNAMENT

Players from the Mellington and Manawatu Centres took part in the tournament on the Otaki Railway green on Sunday. In all there were ten rinks, and close and interesting games resulted. Symonds, supported by A. D. and T. Webster and W. Ralph proved the winners, securing all four games, although on two occasions an extra head had to be played to determine tl\e winners. Grey's rink looked certain to beat Symonds, having a substantial lead, but his team mates wefe finally outclassed. Symonds, in the extra head with Walsh, managed to secure a one-point victory. During the day afternoon tea was provided and enjoyed. Following are results: Symonds four games; Walsh, Henderson and Moffatt three; Osborne two; and Grey, Booth, Bibby, Merwood and Barrow one each. A match between Otaki Railway and Otaki for the Olliver Shield (four rinks) will be played next Saturday. Two rinks from the Otaki Club will visit Paekakariki on November 15 for a trophy game. Several bowlers from the Otaki and Otaki Railway Clubs will visit the South Island for Christmas and New Year tournaments. While some will conipete at Dunedin,
