Received Monday, 10.10 a.m. NEW DELHI, Nov. 2. The primu' Minister of India, Pandit Nehru, * broadcasting over the entire all-India radio network, said India had taken in Kashmir after the ' t ullest consideration of the consequences. He was convm.ced it was the right thing to do. India's troops would not' need to remain; in Kashmir • when the invader had been rejeeted, and Kashmir's fate would be left in the nanas of the. people "We have decicted that as soon as order is restored to hold a referenaum - in. . Kashmir .under internalional auspices, and will accept. the people's verdici. Meanwhiie, we have promised to keep the invader from Kashmir and we will keep our pledge." Pandit Nehru said that the tribesmen who had invaded Kashmir from Pakistan had destroyed and occupied 95 villages. Srinagar had be-.in saved as by a miracle: A large town (Gulmarg) had already been ransacked' and destroyed and other- ■ towns were oeing besieged. A considerable part of Poonch arvia was in the possession of the raiders. "Does that indicate an aggression? Does this indicate that aggression took piace from the Kashmir side on the West Punjab, or does not it show that there has been continuous organised aggression of West Punjab into Kasmnir State?" Pandit Nehru added that the raiders had the latest type of modern arms, and had been reported to have used flame-throwers. 'All their competent leaders came from Pakistan territory. "We have the right to ask the Pakistan Government why these people crossed the -frontier province of West Punjab and how they armsd. The struggle in Kashmir is a struggle of the people under popuiar leadership against the invader. Indian troops are there to help tho people and soon as the State is free Kashmir will be left in the hands of its people.
