THE CIRCUS ARRIVES
MANY VISIT THE, BIG TOP The appearance of two elephants at the water trough outside one of Shannon's hotels yesterday morxiing caused much concem to those who were on their early morning visit to the town. To theiyoungsters of the town the incident hSralded the arrival of the first circus to visit Shannon in ahout ten years. The circus staff exhibited prehision workmanship and it was not long after they arrived that the "big top" was in position and the num.erous side-shows were clustered around it. Although there were a number of children at the site- after school, the vast majority hurried home to perform the numerous duties about '.the • home that put them on the right side of their parents. One mother stated that never in his twelve years of life had her son been so well behaved. Judging by the large crowd which gathered early in the evening it looked as if the whole town turned out for the occasion. All were of the opinion that it was a grand show, and there can hardly be a child in the town who has not now experienced the thrill of attending a circus.
