WELLINGTON. Oct. 31. A fire which broke out shortly after fiVe ocIock ihis mOiTung. aesiroyed practically the whble ot che top floor of Phillips Electricai xndusiries' radio and apparatus xactory in Wakefield Stree-t. A ienior executive of the firm estimated the damage at not less than mo,u00. Firemen had the outbreak under conirol within fifteen mmutes, aitnough the flames were bursting through the roof when thay arrivea, bui for nearly two hours a long opirai of smoke rose from the facuory hoor. Hundreds of small radio cabinets were damaged, as well as sundry other raaio and electricai -quipment, while over 100 employies have been affected by fire. A member of the firm said that further production, as a result of uhe damage, would be delayed until well after the New Year.
