SHANNON PLUNKET SOCIETY

MEETING OF COMMITTEE Mrs. L. W. Wilson presided at the October meeting of the Shannon branch of the Plunket Society, when the following members of the committee were present: Mesdames L. Wilson, R. Lind, C. Wishart, F. Denton and C. Tremewan (secretary) . Mesdames C. King and R. J. Miers, new members of the committee, were welcomed. A letter was read from the Mayor (Mr. R. E. Downes), inviting representatiyes of the society to be present at a public meeting to discuss aid to Britain. The secretary is to write a letter of thanks to Mr. H. Foot for repairing the scales. The nurse's report for September was as follows: "Visits to Shannon 4, visits to homes 9, adults to office 48, pre-school children 2. The attendance was good considering the number of wet Thursdays. Whooping cough is prevalent."
