ADMITTED RESPONSIBILITY FOR TRAIN CRASH
Received Thursday, 10.55 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 29. A 29-year-old poroer-signalman, Horace Douglas Hillier, who was on ducy at Puriey Oaks signal box on October 24 at the time of the Croyden train crash, which killed 31 persons, admitted at a Ministry of Transport inquiry that he was responsible, says the Evening News. He was asked: "You are frankly admitting your responsibility for the accident?" Hiiher bowed his iieud and said, "Yes."
