WELLINGTON, Oet. 21. The re-allocation of- Cabinet portfolios, foilowing the sweariug-in of Alr. T. H-. AlcCombs at a speeial meeting of the Executive Council, was announeed Loday by the Priine Alinister (Alr. Frasei') . e Alr. AleCombs becomes Minister of Education, an office previously held by the Attorney-General (Alr. Mason), and Aliuister-iu-'oharge of Bcientitie • and Industrial Research. ' The porttolios of Alarine and Transport, which were held by the late Alr. O'Brien, have been allocated to Alr. Hackett, who retains his portfolio of Postmaster-General and also becomes Alinister-in-Charge of the Inspection of Alaehinery. Alr. Alason, in addition to the portfolios of Alinister of Justice and Attor-ney-General, will be Alinister-in-Charge of the Publie Trust Office, tlie State Fire and Accident Insurance Office and the Gpvernment Life Insurauce Office. Tlie importance of the functions of the State Fire and Accident Office. said Alr. Fraser, is , greatly increased by the' new workers' compensation measure legislation.
