MINERS' WIVES WORK NIGHT SHIFT

Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 21. Four luindred Wigan house-wives whose ages range frcim 58 to 23 years, contributed nearly 400 miles of cloth to Lancashire's export production by working a night shift for the past two mojqths. All are former mill employees and the majority are wives of miners who stay at home and look after the faimilies in the evening while the -wives are at work. Most of the women travel more than five miles from their homes hut absenteeism is negligible. The women work . at 6 p.m. after they have finished their housework and their husba,nds come in from the pits.
