Tte offer of the Government of a deerease of 12s 6d a ton in the priee qf flour to offset increased costs and sc prevent the need to raise the priee of bread, was described by the Taranaki Master Bakers and Pastryeooks Ass,ociation in Wanganui q,s "simply ridiculous ' ' and ' ' farcical ' '. The following resolution was passed unanimously: — ' 1 That in view of the serious dissatisfaction throughout the baking industry by the totally inadequate reduetion of 12s 6d a ton in the pi'ice of flour grant-" ed by the Government. this meeting strongly reeommends to the New Zealand Council of the Master Bakers' Federation, that the priee of bread be increased by one penny a loaf as from November 1, one farthing of this to go to the reseller. "
