GOOD SCORES ON SATURDAY Conditions were flne but windy for the fourball best ball bogey piayed by . the Levin Golf Club at Che^iyn Rise on Saturday afternoon. Nearly thirty players turned out and some goodt eards were returned, A. Hastedt and S. Franklin winning with eight up. The. scores of those who returned cards were: Hastedt and Franklin eight up, Richards and Ogier four up, D. ,P. Todd and J. E. Fullarton two up, Fritchley and H. Murray two up, C. Lagor and F. McClune all square. Entries are still coming forward for the Labour Day tournament, reports the club secretary, Mr. J. E. Fullarton. Local entries are somewhat disappointing. Although the closing day is past, the committee will consider taking entries up •to Saturday next, The season will officially close on November 15. Ladies' Competitions The second round of the championships was completed during the week, the results being as follows: Mrs. Hastedt defeated Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Denton defeated Mrs. Cameron, Mrs. Franklin defeated Mrs. Porter, Miss Herrick won from Mrs. Long by default. This week an extra L.G.U. will be piayed, the draw being as follows: ' Mrs. Franklin and Mrs. King, Mrs. McClune and Mrs. Denton, Mrs. Ryder and Mrs. Frederikson, Mrs. Hunter and Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Hastedt and Miss Herrick, Mrs. Standen and Mrs. H. Black, Mrs. Richards and Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Corry and Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Walker. At the weekend: Mrs. J. Black and Mrs. Hosie, Miss Kiisby and Mrs. Phillips. All other draws will take place at the clubhouse.
