PreRR AR&f\nifrMfYn )

(Per

AXJGKLAND, Oct. 20. The Auckland Waterside Workers' Union issued the following statement this afternoon: — This union refutes the statement by officials of the New .Zealand Shipping. Company that the union issued the company an ultimatum on Ihe question of the loading of food parcels in the Rangitata on Saturday afternoon. We are compiling a statement for publication which will prove that the reasons for the food parcels being.left oh the wharf were caused by the inefficiency of the shipping company and not by the actions of waterside workers or the union. ' * - After examining all the evidence, the company announces that - the union did not issue an ultimatum that the crew of the Rangitata were not to work the ship on Saturday evening, stated the Auckland ma'nager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, Mr. 'G. N. Tait, this afternoon.
