VALEDICTORY FUNCTION

MR. C. MEACHEN ENTERTAINED A farewell gathering was held at the Otaki Health Camp recently in hcnour of Mr. Clarence Meachen, who has recently resigned his position as secretary of the Health Camp Association. A most enjoyable concert, consisting of group and solo items, was given by thq children, at the conclusion of which Dione Cameron, on behalf of the children, presented . Mr. Meachen with a gift. Later Mr. /Meachen was entertained by the staff. On behalf of hhe matron and staff, Miss Thelma Johns presented the guest with a handsome inlaid wood inkstand. In. wishing Mr. Meachen every success, Miss Johns expressed deep regret chat he was resigning after fifteen years' association with the Health Camp, and hoped he would still retain his keen interest in camp matters. In reply Mr. Meachen thanked those concerned for the gift, and ;tated that he trus'ted they would continue to give of their best to a very worthy cause.
