THE MAYORAL ELECTION

A. W.

PARTON.

Sir, — It will not be my practice to answer anonymous' correspondents in your columns. In your issue of October 3 there appeared a letter signed by "Ratepayer." The points raised I will deal with at my meeting on October 14. It is my very earnest hope, for the welfare . of the district, that party politics will not intrude into what can and should be above party, and that the contest will be a clean one. I did not offer a "stunt" nor an .insult, and in conclusion particularly request your anonymous correspondent to attend mv meeting. Yours etc..

Levin, Oct. 10.
