HOUSEBREAKING IS RIFE IN AUCKLAND
AUCKLAND, Oct, S. Housebreaking continues to be a major problem for the eity police and few suburbs have lieen ininiune duriiig the past fewr months. The most serious case so far tliis week occurred in daylight on Tuesdav afternoon w"hen £50 in eash and property wortli at least £50, including valuable crystalware, was stolen from the home of iVfr. and AJrs. F. Marks of Mt. Eden. Finding the kev of the back door the thieves ransacked the hous'e while Mrs.- Marks was out shopping'. Mr. Mai-k'i is about to leave on a holiday and they used his suitcaseto take away the proeeeds of the rot, berv. The £50 which was stolen had been put aside for household expenses during his absence. Almost irreplaceable crystal was taken from the pitting room.
