SOVIET PRESS CONTROL MOVE OUTVOTED
« Received Wednesdav, 7 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 7. United Nations Assembly's .Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee today rejected by 33 votes to 7 a JSoviet 1110 ve to impose 011 tlie world press tlie obligation to expose "warmongers" and a campaign for tlie eradication of Fascism. The proposal envisaged Government control of the press with the punishment of newspaper owners who disseminated untrue and libellous statements about other nations. The vote was talcen after nearly three liours of angry procedural manoeuvring.
