As there was no iininediate means of trans pori to the niill, the registered jiackage was jdaced in a. locked drawer overuight. Although there was a safe in the otlice, this was not used nor was the otlice door locked as tliey state the k-y had been lost and not replaced. Betitioners also allege tliat the door was not barricaded. Thev claim tliat the jiackage was takou from the office dnring the night and the Post Otlice had olfered £2 comjiensation, the niaxinniin under the regulations. The petilion concluded tliat the eonipany was liot allowed to deduot from its assessable iiieome for inconie tax purposes, the £(>()() lost.
