AIR CADETS TO BE TRAINED TO FLY

WELLINGTON, Qct. 7. Cabinet approval of the training of a maximum pumber of 150 Air Training Corps cadets by aero clubs, was announced by the Minister in Charge of the 'Air Department, Hon. F. Jones, today. The Minister added that tlie trainees would be selected by the R.N.Z.A.F. and would "be required to pass the uecessarv medical examination and to obtain their parents' consent before the commencement o'f training. Eaeh trainee would be required to give an undertaking that he would remain a member of the Air Training Corps until such time as he was released by the Air Force. The IVIiiiister said' the training would be undertaken by instructors who had passed the approved instructors' course and that up to 30 liours' flying training would be pro vided for eacli trainee. The cost would be met by the Government at the rato of £4 per honr for dual and £3 .10s per hour for solo training.
