GOLFERS TO MEET VISITING AUSTRALIANS
w : WELLINGTON, Oet. 7. The New ZeaJand Golf Council has selected the following teams to meet Australian players on their tour of the Dominion :— New Zealand team at Heretaunga, Wellington, on October 31 and November 1: R. H. Glading (Titirangi), W. G. Horne (AVellington), B. M. SiJk (Wanganui) captain, D. L. Woon (AVaitikiri), D. H. Graham (Wellington). South Island team at Shirley, Christchurch: C. J. Ward (Christchurch) captain, A. H. Boyd (Otago), A. Gibbs (Otago), J. L. Blair (Christchurch), G. A. Usslier (Timaru). North Island team at Rotorua: A. R. Jvitto (Wanganui), J. Pelliam (Auckland), G. P. Roberts (Hutt) captain, J. P. Hornabrook (Paraparaumu), W. , B. Keilly (Hutt). If Graham is not required to play for the New Zealand team he will take No. 1 place in the North Island team. Anticdpating that .the Australians might elect to play five men in tlie singles niatehes, the Golf Council has chosen five players for eaeh niateli. The secretary of the New Zealand Golf Association, Mr. G. O. Sutton, stated tonight that entries for the NeW Zealand golf championships tournament at New Plymouth from November 6 till November 15, closed with a total of 10.8 including 87' New Zealand, five Australian amateur players and 21 professionals. . Of the amateurs seven are plus players, 18 are on scrateh, 12 on one and the remairider on two and- three.
