Birth of Twin Foals
rwm foals, a colt and a filly, were born to a nlne-year-old mare owned by Mr. A. L. Halsey, butcher, of Puriri, Thames district, last week. The colt was smothered by its mother and died, but the filly is well. Mr. W. L. Stringer, inspector of stock at Thames, said that the birth of twin foals was very rare. Twin foals were born in the Pahiatua district a year or two ago.
