Mysterious Happenings To Be Investigated

Received Tuesday, 11-45 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 6. Empire Air Navigation School experts will investigate the mysterious deviation and changes which R.A.F. and civil aircraft have experienced on- Imperial routes, •ays an Air Ministry announcev^ient. Experts will accompany the Lincoln four-engined aircraft Aries II when it leaves on October 20 on a liaison and training flight to Australia and New Zealand. The experts hope, by an analysis of observations made during the flight and of compass "swings" at each stop, to determine the causes of the deviation and thus obtain a remedy f or this serious navigation al handicap. Aries II, on its outward journey, will call at Malta, Hannaniya, Negombo, Singapore and Darwin, and on the homeward trip at Singapore, Negombo, Nairobi, Capetown, Heany and Khartoum. It is due back on December 12. It will fly about 32,500 miles, including liaison visits to Australian and New Zealand Air Force units.
