Record Coal Qutput The output of coal from the Stockton State collieries for the-past fchree months was 76,689 tons, exceeding by 10,906 tons ihe output ! for any comparable periods. Tiiis j is all high-grade bituminous coal produced from open cast and deep ( mining. Dairy Output Increases The average September increase in production by the nine leading Northland dairy companies is 21 p,er cent., the output for the season so far being up to the same extent, i says a Whangarei report. Thej Whangarei, Kaikohe, and Maunga,-i tapere companj.es have broken pre,-j vious records for the month an.d: the first four months of the season. Aero Club Co-operatiQn An urgent cail to iiy a neurosurgery case to the Dunedin Public Hospital found the Middle Districus Aero Club in a perpi'exing situation yesterday. Their ambulance plane, a Percival Procter, was temporarily unserviceable and would not be . available in time to make the trip. A call was sent to the Wanganui Aero Club and they willingly obliged by making their Procter available. The case was fiown down in good time and the aircraft had reacned Omaka, Blenheim, on the return trip, before it was forced to seek stielter from the inciepient weather. The Middle Bistricts Aero Club instructor, Wing.Commander D. W. Morish, A.F.C., said yesterday that both clubs had oombined in a ready spirit of eooperation which had become general in the fiying fraternity. Cliff Climbers Reseued Uhabfe to olimb forward or b.ack on the cliff face on' which they were poised, two visiting seamen from the overseas vessei Devon, presented a problem for rescuers. In an attempt to climb the face of Bluff Hill on the .Napier foreshore, the two, men reached a point about halfway up and found they could go no furuher. They were unable to descend by the way they had come and for 21 hours they were forced to remain perched in a perilous position. Th6 climbers* plight was seen from the harbour nearby and a rescue party from the ship, aided by the Harbour Board bosun, went to their' assistance. One of the rescuers was lowered from the -cliff top with a rope. By this means the two men were brought to safety. The cliff was olimbed by a visiting seamap last year. Printer oi* Painter? In March last the Appeal Court heard a case referred to it by the Court of Arbitration in which a woman worker employed as a labeller by International Pamts of New Zealand Limited, was required to stamp words on paint tins ihdieating the colour of the paint. It was contended she I was entitled to be paid for this j worfi on the printers'' award rates. . Mr. Justice Tyndafi stated this case j for the opinion of the Court of Ap-r. j peal. Yesterday the Appeal Court I delivered judgment in which mexiifiers were all agreed that the questions 'asked could not be answered fiecause they were of to.o. general a hature and because the Court of Arbitration had not sufficien,tly decided the facts on which the questjons depended. The case was, sent back to tbe Court of Arbitration With the questions unanswered.
