It is alleged that, posing as Broughtoa, Coyle told Peat Miat lie had a brother in the Merchaul Xavy who was being discharged and had goods in bond valued at £300. lie wanted £100 as advance pavnient for Customs dulios. It is alleged Coyle ollected a further E2.10. This had lieeu transinitted to Wellington by Peat in n money order telegrani. on the imdestaiuliug that an additional advance paynietil was reipiired and tliat lie would be conipensated with suitiugs. Denying the diarges Coyle was cohi initted l'or trial at the Supreme Couri at Xew i'lyinouth.
