LOCAL AND GENERAL
Mr. and Mrs. M. Taylor, of Wellington, are the gues'ts of Mrs. Taylor's father, Mr. G. Munford, Fretoria Road, for a few days. The friends of Mr. V. Picard will be pleased to learn that he is up and about again after his recent illness. Mr. Reg. Graham, of Gisborne, formerly of Mangaore, is spending a short holiday in Shannon looking up his many old friends. Mr. E. Maloney, of Wairoa, who has been spending a few days with his sister, Mrs. E. Ret'ter, Plimmer Terrace, left over the weekend to visit Wanganui prior to returning to his home. Fancy Dress Party The plain and fancy dress party arranged by the Tokomaru Home and School Association was a great success, with most of the children of the township taking the oppor-j tunity to be in fancy costume. For' the earlier part of the evening the floor was reserved for the young folk for games and dances, and following their supper the adults took charge and a delightful dance was enjoyed.
