Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. LOXDOX, Oct. 1. A "Washiikgton message to the New York Herald-Tribufie's European edi tion, says: ''The Armournd Cavairy Journal publishes an artiele clainiing that the strength of the Russian army is now between 3,500,000 and 4,QOO,06u men of whoni at least' 500,000 are serving in heavily niechanised units. The associate editor of the journal, Yfajor H.. D. Kteward, says the Russian army is today the best trained in the world and most nearly prepared for aetual coinbat. It could probably in vade and occ.upy the whole of Western Europe against the resistance of the present British, American and Frencn troops in Europe, in a niatter of 48 hours.
