Received Wednesday, 11.30, a.m. - LONDON, Sept. 30. The main effects of the floodfng of the river Beas and two . other rivers has been to increase the difficulty of moving and supplying the mass of refugees who are fleeing from disorders on both sides of the Indian-Pakistan border. This is reported by ^Reuter's Lahore correspondent, who today flew over the border. The roads betwden Lahore and Amritsar remain unaffected. Eighty thousand Moslems yesterday passed through Amritsar and thousands more since. ^ The Air Ministry announced in London that at the request of the Governments of India and Pakistan four York aircraft of the Royal Air Force Transpoi't Command, in the past week, in two round trips daily loaded to capacity, have transferred both ways 2000 refugees, including ..women, children, and baggage. A child was born during one flight. Hospital Raided The Associated Press' New Delhi correspondent says that armed raiders from adjaceht villages broke into Safdarjong hospital, near New Delhi, and killed four patients and wounded twelve. Non-military hospital guards, some oi whom were unarmed, failed to repel the attackers. The Government has announced that the officer in charge of the hospital guards has been suspended and disciplinary action is to be taken against superior ranks for negligence. Premier's Appeal to Sikhs The Indian Dominion Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Patel, has appealed to Sikhs to cease the attacks and retaliations against the Moslems for at least a week to see if there would be a "satisfactory response," reports Reuter's New Delhi correspondent. Mr. Patel added, "If there isn't, the world will know who is guilty." -Mr. Patel, later addressing a meeting in Amritsar said that the butchery of innocent and defenceless men, women and children was jungle war and the hallmark of inhumanity and barbarism.
