Dawson ' (Australia ) retired injured, later returned to the field but had to retire again. After Cardiff secured a penalty goal as a reshlt of a scrum infringement, Shehadie missed. equalising by iuches. Shehadie shortly after left the field leaving the Australians with 13 men. Shehadie returned and played in the second half with an ixijured arm. He couUl not join tlie scrunis but pushed vvith his right haxid. Cardiff had ncarly' all the best of the tiglit play but Australia was unlueky not to score when Jlowell, Allan .and Eastes handled before Buehan went over the line. Buclian was recalled for putting his foot into touch. McMaster soon afteT missed a penalty kick. Cardiff led 6— -0 when Allan scored for Australia with a penalty goal after 20 minutes' play in tlie second lialf. Tweedale dauiaged ■ his left shoulder but was able to contiuue. Allan collieded with Cardiff 's M an field and was laid out but reeovered and contiuued. Cardiff, near ihe enil, set up a trcmendo'us attack which opened the vvay for a trv by Davies which Tamplin converted. Scorers for Cardiff were D. H. .Toiu.s and Cliff Davies (tries).
