Received Monday, .11.30 a.m. MELBOURNE, Sept. 29. The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne, Dr. Mannix, said that he was sure that the Commdnists would be delighted if the Bill to nationalise the banks was passed. "If the Communists ever get control of this country it will not matter in the least whether there are banks or only one bank, as Australia will be d'own and out. Some people are talking a great deal about the attitude of the Pope and of the Bishops 'of Australia, but neither the Pqpe nor the Bishops as a body have as yet said anything for or against the proposed legislation. It is for those behind the legislation to show, if they can, the desirability or neeessity for it."
