The Court of Appeal heard an appea1. igainst sentenee on behalf of Aubrev .Midwood, of Palmerston North, joekey who was sentenced at the Napier sessions of the Supreme Co\irt by Mr Tustice Smith, to four months' imii'isonment with the cancellation of his driving licenee for three years, for 'ailing to stop and render assistanco after an accident, Counsel for prisoner submitted that the sentenee should be reduc.ed on the ground that it was unduly severe in t omparison with sentences for similav offences ancl that the cancellation of the licenee would affect appellant unfavourably in his employment as a joekey. The Court dismissed the appeal.
