EIGHTH ARMY TO CELEBRATE
Peceived Friday, 7 p.m. LOXDOX, Sept. 26. Seven thousand veterans of the Eiglith Arniv will assemble in Alberl lla.ll 011 October 23 for the second anniversary celebration of the Battle of Alamein. Once again the . Eiglith Arniv's leader, Viscount Alontgoniery, will preside but tliis year Alr. Ernest Bevin will replace Alr. Churchill as guest of liouour. Tlie "prograiiime will open with a specially edited version oi the Eiglith Ariuv iilm* "Desert Victory" and Vera Lynn, whose voice was so often heard by"the Eiglith Army in the desert, will appear in person as cliief guest artist. The British Legion which is organising the reunion, has arranged to billet 2000 visitors froni the provinces.
