Meat Prices Increased
WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. The new s'eale of retail meat prices to operate from September 29, is aimouneed in a price orcler gazetted tonight. The increases which follow the removal of the meat subsidy range from lfd per 1b. for the cheaper euts to 3d per Ib. for choicer grades. Details of th.e new ration value were annoimced today by the Food and Rationing Oontroller, Mr. A. ■J. Costelloe, wh'o stated that next week the adnlt ration wotild he 2s ld in the North Island with 'H', coupons worth lOd and ordinary eonpons 3d each. In the South Island the adult ration would be 2s 2d with "H" coupons worth lld. and' ordinary coupons 3d each. The.fotal ehild's ration would be Is ld in the North Island. and Is 2d in the South Island, "J" coupons being' worth 7d and 8d. respectively.
