' ON THE LINKS AT BUCKLEY With the greens and fairways in good order and ideal weather conditions preyailing, Buckley saw much activity over the weekend. The Saturday competition took the form of a stableford competition and some good cards were handed in. The following are the results: N. Mabey 33, J. Mabey 33, E. T. Wilson 33, H. Karena 33, F. Picard 32, ,W. Stern 32, H. Stern 30,- C. Booker 30. The club's fourball competition was taken further when B. Harris and R- Rasmussen ' met and defeated W. C. Higgie and J. Chambers, and N. Mabey and D. Purcell defeated E. Homer and J. Baker. The handicap committee advises that . the following players had their handicaps reduced after their weekend play: E. Homer from 26 — 20 to 24 — 18, W. Stern from 12 — 9 to 10—8. In the top dogs competition the holders, J. . Mabey and W. Stern, were defeated by F. Picard and H. Karena, four up and three to play. Buckley Defeat Otaki A team representing the Otaki Golf Club visited Buckley on Sunday and after a most enjoyable afternoon's golf, Buckley was successful in defeating the visitors by 20 games to 10.
