CONTROVERSIAL SUBJECTS ON THE RADIO
AUCKLAND, Sept. 23. "1 do not consider that the radio should beused for theological or religious controversy, " said the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraer). at an electors' meeting at Sandringham last night vvhen a womaii member of the audience asked whethei rationalist groups were to be allocated broadcasting time. In replv to an earlier question, Mr. Eraser had stated that a scheme for introducing controversial subjects on the air was under examination by the Minister in Charge of Broadcasting, Mr. Jonos. The Prime Minister said he was opposed to anv person 's religion being attacked over the air and he was also opposed to attacks being launched 011 the rationalists by this medium.- The religious services appealed to a large majority and they were justiiied in I having tlicm, but the experience, for _ example, of one denomination attacking another was not wanted.
