Foxton juniors beat Punahau by 8 — 6 in the curtain-xaiser. Playing very loosely, both teams made rugged work of the game. The first score came when the Foxton half. B. Robinson, took the ball out of the ruck and went over the line. D. Langley secured the extras. Foxton 5, Punahau 0. Aceompanied by R. Broughton and L. Taylor, B. Curtis scored from a ' ruqk near the posts. T. Wilson failed to convert. Foxton 5, Punahau 3. Coming out of a ruck the ball went to- Robinson, who made his second try. Langley missed o'A the extras. Foxton 8, Punahau 3. Near the end of the game T. Wilson took the ball and went over near the cqrner pg. He was injured In his fall and went off the field, to be replacpd by N. Nahona. Punu*- • hau did, not attempt to convert. Foxton 8, Punahau 6. The referee was Mr. L, G, Sayers.
