During'tlie peak of the flood the Kara Strearn overtopped its banks for sonie four houra-- east - of the railway tracks and sandbaggin'g was necessary tb prevent a break-through.- Further slips occurred in Eoss; outlet during the flood and received attention. Further erosion had taken place in the ri'ver bank opposite Mr. R. Prior's property in Old Foxton Road and was now into the toe of the atopbank. Some erosion had alao o.ccurred in the bank immediately below the eastern boundary of Mr. Meech and about two chaius of protection would be needed to prevent further erosion as the river was already into the stopbank and very close to it for some chains.
