It is probable that the GovernorGeneral will visit Otaki on September 18. • Mr. and Mrs. Darcy Ryder have returned to Napier . after visiting relatives in Otaki. Mrs. Hull and her children have returned to Otaki from Hawke's Bay. Mr. Alan Berry, of Waipukurau, has been reiiewing acquaintance§v in Otaki. Mr. J. D'Ath, of Hawke's Bay, has bee'n visiting relatives here in Otaki. Mrs. Eric Cook and her small son, after a vacation in Auckland, have returned to Otaki. . Mr. Peter Royal is visiting his parents after a sojourn in the Pacific Islands. While working on Messrs. Taylor Bros.' property on Monday Mr. H. Edwards, of Te Horo, met with a very painful accident, due to the crank of a truck flying back and striking him in the face. He was rendered unconscious, and was conveyed to the Palmerston North Hospital for treatment. Luckily, no bones were broken. County Elections At a meeting of the Waikanae Beach Ratepayers' Association recently it was decided to nominate Messrs. C. Antcliffe and A. Daniel for positions on the Horowhenua County Council at the elections in November. Bowling Club's Colours The Waikanae Beach Bowling Club, which has had considerable difliculty i*n securing club colours, has been allotted light green for blazers. The Otaki Club's green has undergone further preparation for the coming season, the latest being a mud bath which should have the desired elfect.
