MASSACRE OF VETERINARY OFFICERS
^ Eeceived Friday, 8.45 p.m. MEXICO CITY, -Sept. 5. The police have announced the arrest of 40 persons in connection with the massaere of seven members of a veterinary field erew which was participating in the national campaign to stamp out hoof and mouth disease among Mexico's ea'ttle. The attack oecurred on September 1. When the crew arrived at Senguio, 500 villagers surged about their jeep threatening to kill the inspectors if they slaughtered any local cattle. While the chief veterinarian, Dr. Auguste Juarez Medina, was trying to explain the mission, 'a woman stahbed hin^to death. The villagers then • slew the'rest of the crew and dragged thc bodies through the streets. One t'renzied villager noticed a vietim had died with his eyes open. He dug out the eyes with a needle.
