GIFT OF BULLOCKS TO PLYMOUTH
LONDON, Sept. 3. Reuicrs sars the news that 20 New Zealand bullocks, presented by Piy-mouth-born Mr. F. W. Burley, 01 Hamilton, New Zealand, are on the way to Plymouth has caused a surprise in that city. The nieat will be distributed among local needy families. The secretary to the Lord Mayor of Plymouth said: "This is ncws to us. We received in January a letter from the secretary of the Fainine Enxergency Committee in Hamilton saying that 30 food parcels were being sent on bohalf of.Mr. Burley. The parcels arrivod in batclies. We wrote thanking Mr. Burley and have since received another 30 parcels. Mr. Burley ivas born iu Plymouth and during the last few months I10 has sent 300 food parcels to that city. A further consignnient of parcels is boing forwarded this week. Mr. Burley is a retired Hamilton business man, and over a period of years he has made substantial donations to the Waikato Returned Services Association and to the relief of distress in England.
