THEFT OF SAFE AND VALUABLE CONTENTS

AUCKLAND, Sept. 4. The theft of a safe containing diamond rings, banknotes, cash, war bonds and other papers valued at £2200, has been reported to the police by J\Lr. T. R. Radich, of 15" Remuera Road. Mr. Radich stated that the theft occurred between 6.15 aml 9 o'clock 011 IVeclnesday night vvhile his houie was unoccunied. It is believed that the thieves eutered through the front door as it is stated there were 110 marks showing that force had been used 011 the windows or doors. The safe, which weighed 3cwt., was dragged out of tlxe front door and along the verandan, daniaging portion of it and leaving scratches on tlie paint.
