is a more interesting display seicntifically, ' ' said the direetor of the Christchurch Magnetic Obser,vatory, Mr. H. F. Baird, wheu comparing tonight Js with tlie last display, "because there was a full moon only vesterday. " The moon was in full view on the eastern liorizon at about 20 degrees elevation wliile the aurora extended from west lo south east ancTup to an elevation of 90 degrees.
