Cards Still Popular Card evenings still attract large gatherings of 'players in the district. On Friday evening Lauryig's Hall was well filled when the local branch of the Labour Party held its f weekly party. Prizfe-winners were Mrs. Ropoama and Mr. R. Harding. Last week the popular 500 tournament between the Shannon and Mangaore social clubs was held in the Parish Hall. Thirteen tables were occupied and 130 games played, of which Shannon won 74 against Mangaore's 56. Thus Shannon retain. the trophy until a return match .• is played at Mangaore^
