?6rson3(| f 'Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Lindsay have returned to ' their home at Mangaore after spending a holiday in Wellington. The friends of Mrs. G. Wilkinson will regret to learn that she ha$ found it necessary to again enter the Palmerston North Hospital for treatment. All joih in wishing her a speedy^recovery. Congratulations are extended to Misses J. Parr and L. Pedersen for their selection in the Horowhenua basketball representative team to play at Rotorua. • Miss Parr and Miss Pedersen will leave this evening. Cards Still Popular Card evenings still attract large gatherings of 'players in the district. On Friday evening Lauryig's Hall was well filled when the local branch of the Labour Party held its f weekly party. Prizfe-winners were Mrs. Ropoama and Mr. R. Harding. Last week the popular 500 tournament between the Shannon and Mangaore social clubs was held in the Parish Hall. Thirteen tables were occupied and 130 games played, of which Shannon won 74 against Mangaore's 56. Thus Shannon retain. the trophy until a return match .• is played at Mangaore^
