The cold snap yesterday brought a further fall of snow on the Tararua Ranges, while the heUvy rain on Monaay night and yesterday mormng caused the rivers in the district to carry more than their usual volume of water. The rainfall in Otaki for the 24 hours to 9.30 a.m. yesterday was 92 points. Sunday School Social A very successful social was held by the Otaki Beach Anglican Sunday School recently. Scholars were permitted to invite their friends and about 40 children, together with some parents and adult friends, were present. The vicar, Canon H. E. K. Fry, spoke encouragingly to all. An organ recital, songs, recitations, games, competitions and charades, combined with an excellent supper, gave real delight to one and all. All are glad to report the successful installation of a heater providing both warmth and hot water.
