EMPLOYMENT OP YOUTHS

LONDON, Sept. 1. The Ministry of Labour has issued a new order relaxing the terms of the Factories Act, so that firms wishing to stagger working hours and spread the electricity load can employ 16-year-olds at hours outside the limits the Act imposes. The permissible starting time is now 6 a.m., instead of 7 a.m., ama workers can be employed until 11 p.m., instead of 8, p.m.
