^ Mr. W. L. J. Travers, of Wellington, arrived this week to take up the appointment qf manager at the Levin branch of the Banx of New Zealand. He replaces Mr. P. C. Hillv who retired recently. Mr. I. H. MacArthur, of Wellington, has been eleeted chairman ' of the management committee of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association and Mr. A. H. Richards deputychairman. After 'having been almost 30 years on the Bench, Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., sehiof magistrate in Welling-/ ton, will begin his retirement on September 22. He has been in Wellington since 1938 and prior to that Was magistrate in Palmerston North for 19 years. At that time Levin, Otaki and Foxton were in the Palmerston North circuit, and Mr. Btout presided at sittings of the Magisirate's Court in these places. '
