BANDSMEN'S NIGHT OFF

With practice two nights a week and quickstep practice over the .weekends, members of the Levin j Municipal Band have been hard at iwork over the last few months in | preparation for the eontest to be held in Palmerston North over the |Labour weekend. , As a welcome break from their musical studies, and to give the public .of Levin and surrounding district the opportunity of meeting the bandsmen socially, it has been decided to hold a ball in the Regent Hall, Levin, on Friday, September 5. A strong .committee has been set up and arrangements are all complete for a real night of enjoy[ment for young and old. Decoratiing of the hall will be undertaken by the bandsmen, who follow a variecy of trades, so the result should be pleasing. The hot savoury supper will be in the hands of I professional caterers, while the imusic for the occasion will be supI plied by the renowned "Commandos," of Palmerston North — I Advt.
